  • September means back to school!

    New classes have been scheduled!

    If you missed the last round – here’s your chance to sign up before it’s too late.

    Want to learn how to fix a flat, adjust your own brakes or install a chain? – Check out our Basic Skills Class!

    If you’ve already taken our basic intro – move on to the advanced class where you’ll experience rear hub and  headset overhauls! very exciting stuff…

    In addition to the usual co-ed offerings, this month we are pleased to announce a Basic class for women and transgendered folks,  taught by women in an intentional environment meant to empower those who have not benefited from male privilege.

    Basic classes start September 14th and 25th, the Women’s course begins September 26th.

    Advanced students start on September 20th.

  • Reconditioned Bikes – Adopt one Today!

    Here at Broadway – we love to give new life to older bikes. Our reconditioned bikes have been evaluated and refurbished with a sharp eye making them gently used frames with new bike reliability.

    22 inch frame for a larger rider, super nice handbuilt wheelset with paul hubs on mavic rims – with clip on fenders to keep the mud down.

    Broadway Bicycle School is turning 39! Help us celebrate our big day by stopping by the shop this weekend.

    Free Self Help and Teaching ALL DAY LONG! (maximum time with your favorite mechanic is 1 hour, sorry – gotta spread the love).

    Sing a little, learn about your bike, have some cake and refreshments!

    Special guest appearance by the neighborhood cat — if we’re lucky!

    Gallery Opening and Reception for Brittany Gravely

    Door 3 Gallery presents a mystical evening with multi-media artist, experimental film maker Brittany Gravely.

    Artistically Brittany Gravely has focused primarily on 16mm film for the past several years, but also creates works in sound, video, installation, and many media of the second dimension. She graduated in 2001 with an MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Her films, for which she is the writer, director, editor and sound designer include 2001’s Introduction To Living In A Closed System (New York Film Festival, Images Festival, MFA Boston, videoex, New York Underground…) and Blood of the Earthworm of 2006 (T.I.E. Cinema, Black Maria, New York Underground, Antimatter, Chicago Underground…). In 2008, she and Jennifer Pipp formed Architecture of the Sun to accompany live music while manipulating dual 16mm projections and have performed in clubs and galleries in Brooklyn, Boston and Providence.

    Certified in Palmistry – Brittany will provide readings throughout the evening. So come out and enjoy the usual dainties and have your future demystified Thursday night!

    This show will be on display through August 17th, open to the public during normal business hours at the Broadway Bicycle School.
