Spring is here and that means the return of Hubway bikes to the streets!
Effective Tuesday, April 2, the Hubway bikeshare network opened for the 2013 season! Nearly 75% of the system will be operational and full station deployment is expected by mid-April. There will be an official ‘Opening Day’ launch event on Monday, April 8. Stay tuned to the Hubway Twitter feed and Facebook page for event details.
In the next week 1100 bikes will be hitting the pavement at 112 convenient bike sharing stations across Boston, Brookline, Cambridge and Somerville.
The Hubway system is optimized for local trips that take less than 30 minutes from station to station. Three levels of membership make it a great option – whether your primary bike is in the shop for a few days or you need an affordable and reliable way to get from A to B.
Join as an annual member for $85 and get your own Hubway Key – you get 24/7 access to bikes throughout Cambridge, Somerville, Boston and Brookline.
If you have friends visiting for the weekend – go for a bike ride! Opt for the 3 day membership for only $12.
In a jam and need wheels quick – get a 24 hour membership for 5 bucks
The T has some stiff competition for those commuters who prefer getting some fresh air and exercise on their daily travels.
Super affordable – the Boston Hubway is a great asset to prove Boston and surrounding municipalities are actively promoting healthy, local self-sustaining commuter transit. And the response over the last two years since the Hubway was born has been huge.
Hubway is making bike sharing a viable option on multiple levels… The Boston Public Health Commission is providing subsidized annual memberships for low income Boston residents at $5.00/year, which includes a free helmet. Find out if you qualify and get your subsidy code from the Boston Public Health Commission, and redeem your code at TheHubway.com or by calling 1-855-(4 HUBWAY).
Hubway also offers a Corporate account – If you work for a company interested in promoting sustainable living – encourage them to add Hubway as an employee incentive.
Try something different – take a hubway bike round the block and join the ranks of Boston’s joy riders.
The All-City Space Horse is a do it all design with a really nice set of components out of the box.
The geometry of the frameset itself, is a mix of traditional road and touring geometry’s giving the bike agile head tube and seat tube numbers, a relatively short rear end, but with a lower than roadbike bottom bracket for increased stability while loaded.
This thing is rugged, can run whatever drivetrain you wish, haul crap, and take your cycling experience further. Standard with a 2×10 STI Tiagra Drivetrain and plenty of pep. Read More about the Space Horse
